Lava from Hekla
Ancient rock found during my residency at Gullkistan. I covered part of the lava with silver then torch fired it, melting it into the lava.

UPDATE: I am currently in Iceland for several months researching, exhibiting, teaching and creating items. I do not remove lava from sacred, special or protected areas. Lava can be found almost everywhere on the main island of Iceland (island). The lava I work with is in great abundance! And generally found along the roads, or close to the sea.

Ship with delicate sterling rolo-chain.

Element: fire
The addition of silver adds: Moon, water, conjuring
Together: transformation

One of a kind
